Conversations with Fr. Pigi Bernareggi
2021

Pier Luigi Bernareggi (1939-2021), Pigi, was a student of Monsignor Luigi Giussani, founder of the Communion and Liberation movement, in the 1950s, at the Berchet High School in Milan. There he encountered the experience of GS (Gioventù Studentesca, the original nucleus of CL), and within this story, in 1964, he left as a missionary for Brazil together with other students. He was ordained a priest in Belo Horizonte.

This book is a tribute to Fr. Pigi, through the recollection of the informal, beautiful and evocative dialogues he had during these years with friends of the movement, especially with Marco Montrasi (Bracco), the head of CL in Brazil.
Most of these conversations took place in the company of Rosetta Brambilla (Rosa), herself a missionary in Brazil for over forty years and a great friend of his. It was to her that Pigi wrote the letter that concludes this collections of texts.
The book closes with the last messages dedicated to him by Fr. Julián Carrón.
