Pope Francis Thanks Volunteers at World Youth Day

At the end of World Youth Day, Pope Francis met the volunteers who made the event possible. Watch his address here.

At the end of World Youth Day in Panama, Pope Francis met 15,000 of the 20,000-plus volunteers who spent their week helping make WYD possible. Greeting and thanking them in the Rommel Fernandez Stadium, the Holy Father reminded them of the importance of appreciating the impact serving others has on our person: "We experience how faith takes on a completely new flavor and force: it becomes more alive, dynamic and real." "Now you know how our hearts beat faster when we have a mission," he said. "Not because someone told you this, but because you experienced it for yourselves. You experienced in your own life that 'no one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.'"
