Julián Carrón’s message at the conclusion of the Student Youth Easter Triduum. Rimini, April 7, 2012

Julián Carrón

Never as now have you felt vibrate within
all the desire for happiness that constitutes you.
To the point of amazing you.
“O human nature, why is this?
If frail and vile throughout,
If shadow, dust thou art, say, why
Hast thou such fancies, aspirations high?”
said Leopardi, in wonder.
The need of our heart is so great
that at times we are bewildered.
Nothing gives us peace.
Nothing seems to measure up to our desires.
What tenderness for yourself is needed
not to desert your own heart!
The person who does not give up, sooner or later, will understand why it was worth it:
to discover the fascination of Christ.
My wish for you is to find increasingly more friends among you who,
like the tenth leper,
do not settle for anything less than
His presence,
His friendship.

Your companion on the road to destiny
Julián
